How to Study the Bible
Sooner or later, each Bible-believing Christian must learn how to study his or her own Bible. Definitely, each Pastor must have learned (and still learning) the various methods of studying the Bible. After all, the Bible is our sole authority for doctrine and in our lives (at least that's how it's supposed to be).
My Bible school Hermeneutics teacher used for our class the textbook "How to Study the Bible", which in Part 1 we learned:
1. Begin with Prayer.
2. Identify the Context.
3. Observe the Obvious.
4. Deal with the text Objectively.
5. Read with a Purpose.
Of course, there's a lot more to it than those 5 things. But if that's all you will learn then that's a very good start.
